2011 is the European Year of Volunteering!!
The European Commission decreed that 2011 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the UN International Year of Volunteers (IYV)
In 2011 the Hole in The Wall family of European camps will come together celebrate the value and impact of 2200 volunteers/year who have been central to the success of our camps Volunteers are at the heart of our camps...and we want to recognise their loyalty, commitment, energy and incredible enthusiasm!

Serving together the seriously ill children of 24 European countries.
European HITW camps will serve more than 2,000 volunteers in 2010!!
The objectives for European Year of Volunteering 2011 as proposed by the European Commission are:
- Raise public awareness on volunteering
- Celebrate volunteers
- Show possibilities, values
- Motivate people to become volunteers
Our volunteers are demonstrating these values. In celebrating our volunteers we also celebrate our camps as centres of excellence for volunteering!
